National Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Awareness

COPD is a group of lung diseases that block the airflow and make it difficult to breath. COPD is very common in that there are more than 3 million US cases per year. COPD is a chronic disease meaning that one can live with this condition for a long time. The most common conditions are emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking is the primary cause of COPD but there are also other risk factors for developing COPD such as age, socioeconomic status, and infections. Below are some helpful links A.
