THE FOUNDER

Brittani J. Stone, MPH, CPhT
Founder & Executive Director
A Vision Rooted in Real Life
Brittani Stone is a first-generation college graduate, public health advocate, and passionate changemaker committed to eliminating healthcare disparities in underserved communities.
Her story doesn’t begin in boardrooms or grant offices; it began at home on the South Side of Chicago. Growing up in a community affected by food deserts and limited access to resources, Brittani developed an understanding of how access and proximity shape overall well-being.
Determined to create the change she wanted to see, Brittani founded A. Rose Nonprofit in 2018 as a bridge between people and the support they need to thrive—educationally, financially, emotionally, and physically.
“A. Rose isn’t just a nonprofit—it’s a promise to my community that someone is fighting for us.”
— Brittani Stone
More about Brittani
Brittani holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master of Public Health from Benedictine University, with concentrations in Health Management & Policy and Health Education & Promotion.
Her early professional experience in pharmaceutical settings provided her with firsthand exposure to how healthcare systems operate at the point of care, as well as where gaps in access and communication can occur. This experience shaped her understanding of how policies and processes translate into real-world experiences for individuals and families.
She later transitioned into clinical research, where she has been working in medication development and patient safety, supporting study operations, regulatory processes, and clinical trial oversight. While her career has not been rooted in traditional public health roles, these experiences collectively inform her systems-oriented approach to community well-being and resource coordination.
A. Rose
Her Impact through
Under Brittani’s leadership, A. Rose Nonprofit has evolved from a grassroots initiative into a structured organization grounded in intentional systems, strategic partnerships, and sustainable operations. Her focus has been on building the internal infrastructure required to support multi-city community-centered programming while ensuring clarity, accountability, and long-term viability.
This includes securing grants and in-kind support, cultivating cross-sector partnerships, and establishing clear governance, leadership roles, and operational workflows that allow the organization to function beyond any single individual. By prioritizing systems over short-term outputs, Brittani has positioned A. Rose to grow responsibly, respond to community needs, and steward resources with care.
Her leadership approach reflects a commitment to thoughtful planning, shared responsibility, and impact that is both meaningful and sustainable.
A Leader Committed to Legacy
What makes Brittani’s leadership stand out is her belief in shared leadership. She’s committed to mentoring the next generation of changemakers, especially young professionals entering the public health field. Whether she's hosting a volunteer event, leading a health fair, or empowering student interns, Brittani brings heart and strategy to every room she enters.
She envisions A. Rose Nonprofit growing into a national force—reaching more cities, building more bridges, and eliminating health gaps that have gone ignored for far too long.
